Jeff Cardoni has been tapped to score the upcoming CBS drama Training Day. The show is created by Will Beall (Gangster Squad) and stars Drew Van Acker, Bill Paxton, Katrina Law, Lex Scott Davis, Julie Benz, Justin Cornwell and Marianne Jean-Baptiste. The series is inspired by the 2001 feature starring Denzel Washington & Ethan Hawke and follows a young, idealistic police officer who goes undercover in the elite Special Investigation Section of the LAPD and is tasked with spying on his new partner, a seasoned detective who engages in questionable methods. Beall is also executive producing the Warner Bros. Television production with Jerry Bruckheimer (Pirates of the Caribbean, The Rock, Beverly Hills Cop), Jonathan Littman (CSI franchise), Barry Schindel (Unforgettable, Castle), Antoine Fuqua (The Equalizer) who helmed the 2001 film, as well as Danny Cannon (Gotham, Judge Dredd) who also directed the pilot episode. Cardoni has previously scored the Bruckheimer-produced hit procedural CSI: Miami. Training Day is set to premiere in early 2017 on CBS. Visit the official show website for more information.
Cardoni’s upcoming projects also include the features Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates starring Zac Efron & Anna Kendrick, Smitten! starring Darren Criss and Bad Kids of Crestview Academy. He also continues to score HBO’s Silicon Valley, which currently airs in its third season every Sunday night.
