Jeff Cardoni has signed on to score the Lifetime pilot The Lottery. The show is created by Timothy Sexton (Children of Men) and stars Marley Shelton, Michael Graziadei, Lesley-Ann Brantset, Louise Lombard, Brian Stokes Mitchell, Martin Donovan and David Alpay. The drama is set 25 years in the future when the human race faces extinction and when women stop having children. When 100 fertilized embryos are discovered, a national lottery is setup to help decide the surrogates. Danny Cannon (Judge Dredd, The Young Americans) is directing the pilot episode and is also executive producing the Warner Horizon production with Dawn Olmstead (Prison Break, Tru Calling). Cardoni has previously scored the Cannon-produced hit series CSI: Miami. Lifetime is expected to decide later this year if The Future will be picked up to series.
Cardoni has also been hired to score the upcoming comedic thriller Miss Meadows. The film is written and directed by Karen Leigh Hopkins (screenwriter of Stepmom & Because I Said So) and stars Katie Holmes, James Badge Dale, Callan Mulvey, Mary Kay Place and Jean Smart. The movie centers on an elementary school teacher who moonlights as a vigilante. Rob Carliner (Crazy Heart, The Apostle, The Assassination Tango) and Eric Brenner are producing the project for Rob Carliner Productions and Wiretap Films. Hopkins and Holmes also serve as executive producers. Miss Meadows is currently in post-production and is expected to premiere later this year.The composer also continues to score NBC’s comedy The Michael J. Fox Show, as well as the FX comedies Wilfred and The League.
