Composer Antony Partos is reuniting with director David Michod on the upcoming futuristic thriller The Rover. The movie stars Guy Pearce, Robert Pattinson, Scoot McNairy, David Field, Anthony Hayes, Gillian Jones and Susan Prior. The film is set in the future a decade after the collapse of the western economic system and follows a loner traveling in the desolate Australian outback, where a gang of thieves steal his car and leave behind a wounded member who is forced to help track down the gang. Michod has also written screenplay based on a story by himself and actor Joel Edgerton. The director is also producing the project with Liz Watts (Animal Kingdom, Little Fish) for Porchlight Film and David Linde (360) for Lava Bear Films. Partos and Michod have previously collaborated on the Australian 2010 dramatic crime thriller Animal Kingdom. The Rover has recently been picked up by A24 Films for domestic distribution. A release in 2014 is expected.
