Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is Marvel Studios’ Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 written and directed by James Gunn and starring Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Pom Klementieff, Karen Gillan, Vin Diesel, Will Poulter and Bradley Cooper.. The film’s original score is composed by John Murphy (28 Days Later…, The Suicide SquadSunshine, Kick-AssLes Miserables). Hollywood Records & Marvel Music have released two soundtrack albums featuring Murphy’s score and the songs from the movie. Also opening wide is the romantic comedy drama Love Again written and directed by Jim Strouse and starring Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Sam Heughan and Celine Dion.  Keegan DeWitt (Hearts Beat Loud, I’ll See You in My Dreams, A Teacher, Divorce) has composed the film’s original score. Columbia Records will release a soundtrack album featuring Celine Dion’s songs from the movie (including several original tracks), as well as three cues from DeWitt’s score next Friday, May 12. Opening in select U.S. theaters is the British romantic comedy What’s Love Got to Do With It? directed by Shekhar Kapur and starring Lily James, Shazad Latif, Shabana Azmi, Emma Thompson, Sajal Aly and Asim Chaudhry. The film’s original score is composed by Nitin Sawhney (Breathe, The Namesake, Traitors, Mowgli: Legend of the JungleA Girl from Mogadishu). Mercury Classic has released a soundtrack album featuring both the composer’s score and the songs from the movie earlier this year when the film opened in the UK. Also opening in select U.S. theaters is the Chilean/Argentine drama Chile ’76 (1976) co-written and directed by Manuela Martelli and starring Aline Kuppenheim, Hugo Medina, Nicolás Sepúlveda and Alejandro Goic. Mariá Portugal has composed the film’s original music. Staatsakt Rec. GmbH has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score earlier this year when the movie opened overseas. Opening in select theaters today before premiering on next Friday, May 12, on Netflix is the action thriller The Mother directed by Niki Caro and starring Jennifer Lopez, Joseph Fiennes, Gael García Bernal, Paul Raci, Omari Hardwick, Jesse Garcia and Edie Falco. The film’s original music is composed by Germaine Franco (Encanto, Vida, Dora and the Lost City of Gold, TagLittle).
