KOVAS (On My Block, Boo, Bitch, Freeridge, Fantasy Football, After Jackie) is the composer of the new Disney+ original series The Crossover. The show is based on the bestselling novel by Kwame Alexander and stars Derek Luke, Jalyn Hall, Amir O’Neil, Deja Monique Cruz, Sabrina Revelle, Trevor Bush and Skyla I’Lece, as well as Daveed Diggs as the narrator. The drama follows two twin middle school basketball phenoms as they struggle with growing up, growing apart, and finding themselves — on and off the court. Alexander and Diggs are also executive producing the 20th Television production with co-showrunners Damani Johnson & Kimberly A. Harrison (Deputy), as well as LeBron James & Maverick Carter (Space Jam: A New Legacy, Hustle), Jamal Henderson, Lezlie Wills (Antebellum), George Tillman, Jr. (The Hate U Give, Men of Honor), Bob Teitel (Barbershop, Faster), Robert Prinz (Family Reunion), Jay Marcus (On the Come Up), Todd Harthan (The Resident, Rosewood) and Erin O’Malley (New Girl, Single Parents). The Crossover will premiere this coming Wednesday, April 5, on Disney+.
