Tom Howe (Ted Lasso, A Shaun the Sheep Movie: Farmageddon, Early Man, The People We Hate at the Wedding) has teamed up with Shez Manzoor to score the upcoming action comedy Polite Society. The film is written and directed by Nida Manzoor (We Are Lady Parts) and stars Priya Kansara, Ritu Arya, Seraphina Beh, Ella Bruccoleri, Nimra Bucha and Akshay Khanna. The movie follows a London schoolgirl and martial artist-in-training who believes she must save her older sister from her impending marriage and – with the help of her friends – attempts to pull off an ambitious wedding heist in the name of independence and sisterhood. Tim Bevan & Eric Fellner (Atonement, Baby Driver) are producing the project for Working Title, alongside Olivier Kaempfer for Parkville Pictures. Polite Society will premiere in January at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival and will be released in U.S. theaters on April 28, 2023 by Focus Features.

Howe’s other recent feature projects include the animated feature The Amazing Maurice, which just opened in UK theaters and will be released in the U.S. on February 3.
