BBC announced today that Isobel Waller-Bridge (Fleabag, The Phantom of the Open, Emma, Vita & Virginia, Munich: The Edge of War, Roar, Vanity Fair) has composed the original music for the upcoming animated Christmas animated special The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse. The composer’s score is performed by the BBC Concert Orchestra and conducted by Geoff Alexander and will be featured in the animated short based on Charlie Mackesy’s bestselling illustrated book of the same title and starring Tom Hollander, Idris Elba, Gabriel Byrne and Jude Coward Nicol. Mackesy is also co-directing the special with Peter Baynton. Cara Speller (101 Dalmatian Street) is producing the project for NoneMore Productions, alongside J.J. Abrams (Star Trek, Star Wars: The Force Awakens) & Hannah Minghella (Lou) for Bad Robot Productions. The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse will premiere this holiday season on BBC One.
