Leo Birenberg & Zach Robinson (Cobra Kai, Impractical Jokers: The Movie, Die Hart, F*&% the Prom) have been tapped to score the upcoming Roku Channel original movie Weird: The Al Yankovic Story. The film is directed by Eric Appel (Son of Zorn) and stars Daniel Radcliffe as “Weird Al” Yankovic, Evan Rachel Wood as Madonna, Rainn Wilson as radio broadcaster Dr. Demento, as well as Julianne Nicholson & Toby Huss as Yankovic’s parents, Mary and Nick. The biopic chronicles Yankovic’s life and career, from gifted child prodigy to the greatest musical legend of all time. Appel also co-wrote the screenplay with Yankovic who is also producing the project with Mike Farah (Brockmire, Between Two Ferns), Joe Farrell (American Vandal, No Activity) & Whitney Hodack for Funny Or Die, and Tim Headington (Hugo, The Tourist), Lia Buman (Resurrection, Blow the Man Down) & Max Silva for Tango. Weird: The Al Yankovic Story will premiere this fall on The Roku Channel.

Birenberg & Rosenberg also continue to co-score Netflix’s Cobra Kai, which will return for its fifth season on September 9. The composers will also be performing their music from the show next Thursday, June 23 at a live concert at the Troubadour in West Hollywood, CA.
