Jeff Russo (Fargo, The Night Of, Legion, Lucy in the Sky, The Act) is the composer of the upcoming Showtime original series The Man Who Fell to Earth. The show is developed by Alex Kurtzman (Now You See Me, Eagle Eye) & Jenny Lumet (Rachel Getting Maried) and stars Chiwetel Ejiofor, Naomie Harris, Jimmy Simpson, Sonya Cassidy, Rob Delaney, Joana Ribeiro, Annelle Olaleye, Clarke Peters, Kate Mulgrew and Bill Nighy. The sci-fi drama is based on the Walter Tevis novel and the 1976 film of the same title starring David Bowie and follows a new alien character who arrives on Earth at a turning point in human evolution and must confront his own past to determine our future. Ejiofor are also executive producing the CBS Studios production with John Hlavin (Shooter, Underworld: Awakening), Sarah Timberman & Carl Beverly (SEAL Team, Masters of Sex), Heather Kadin (Scorpion, Sleepy Hollow), Aaron Baiers (Star Trek: Lower Decks & Prodigy), Rola Bauer (World Without End, The Pillars of the Earth) and Françoise Guyonnet (Calls). Russo has previously collaborated with Kurtzman & Lumet on Star Trek: Discovery & Picard and CBS’ Clarice. The Man Who Fell to Earth will premiere on April 24, 2022 on Showtime.

Among Russo’s other current projects are Star Trek: Discovery, which is currently in its fourth season, Star Trek: Picard, which will return for its second season on March 3, FX’s Snowfall, which is launching its fifth season today and Netflix’s The Umbrella Academy, which will return for its third season this year. He also composed the main and end titles music for the Kurtzman- and Lumet-produced Paramonunt+ series Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, which will premiere on May 5.
