Newhere Music has released a new soundtrack album for the Japanese drama Drive My Car (Doraibu mai ka). The album features the film’s original music composed by Eiko Ishibashi, including two previously unreleased bonus tracks. Drive My Car is co-written and directed by Ryusuke Hamaguchi and stars Hidetoshi Nishijima, Toko Miura, Masaki Okada, Park Yurim, Reika Kirishima and Jin Daeyeon. The movie follows a renowned stage actor and director who receives an offer to direct a production of Uncle Vanya at a theater festival in Hiroshima two years after his wife’s unexpected death. The drama, which premiered at last year’s Cannes Film Festival, just received four Academy Award nominations in the Best Picture, Director, Adapted Screenplay and International Feature categories, is now playing in select U.S. theaters .
