Kristen Anderson-Lopez & Robert Lopez (Frozen, WandaVision, The Book of Mormon) are writing original songs for the upcoming Hulu original series Up There. The romantic comedy musical is set in New York City in the waning days of 1999 and tells the story of one ordinary couple, as they fall in love and discover that the single greatest obstacle to finding happiness together might just be themselves. The show is written by Steven Levenson (tick, tick… BOOM!, Dear Evan Hansen) (who also serves as the project’s showrunner)  & Danielle Sanchez-Witzel and directed by Thomas Kail (Hamilton, Fosse/Verdon). They are also executive producing the 20th Television production with Anderson-Lopez & Lopez, as well as Jennifer Todd (Alice in Wonderland, Austin Powers, Memento). Up There is set to start production this summer. (Deadline)

The songwriters also continue to be involved in Apple TV+’s animated series Central Park. A new song (You are the Music) from the upcoming second part of the show’s second season (premiering on March 4) was released earlier this month.
