Quartet Records has announced several new soundtrack albums including a new 3-CD set featuring the complete scores for the last three films in the original The Pink Panther franchise directed by Blake Edwards: 1982’s Trail of the Pink Panther, 1983’s Curse of the Pink Panther and 1993’s Son of the Pink Panther. The Pink Panther Final Chapters Collection features remastered versions of the scores for Trail & Curse composed by Academy Award winner Henry Mancini (Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Charade, Santa Claus: The MovieThe Thorn BirdsThe Great Mouse Detective,Victor/Victoria) on the first two discs and the composer’s complete expanded score for Son of the Pink Panther (including previously unreleased music) on the third disc. The label has also announced a new soundtrack for the 1964 epic war drama Zulu directed by Cy Enfield and starring Stanley Baker, Jack Hawkins, Lilla Jacobsson and Michael Caine. The album features the remastered and slightly expanded original score from the Paramount Pictures release composed and conducted by Academy Award winner John Barry (Dances with WolvesOut of AfricaGoldfinger, The Man with the Golden Gun, Body HeatSomewhere in TimeOctopussy). Quartet’s other new releases include an expanded soundtrack for Federico Fellini’s 1955 feature Il Bidone (music by Nino Rota) and a 50th Anniversary remastered soundtrack edition for 1971’s Maddalena (music by Ennio Morricone).
