A&M Records will release a new soundtrack album for the 1971 cult comedy drama Harold and Maude directed by Hal Ashby and starring Ruth Gordon, Bud Cort, Vivian Pickles, Cyril Cusack, Charles Tyner and Ellen Geer. The album features all nine original songs from the movie written and performed by Cat Stevens, as well as additional dialogue and instrumental music from the film. Previously unheard audio masters have been discovered in the Island Records/A&M archive for Don’t Be Shy and If You Want To Sing Out, Sing Out and all audio has been remastered at Abbey Road Studios in London. The soundtrack will be released digitally and physically (on CD and vinyl) on February 11, 2022 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Harold and Maude is now available on VOD, Blu-ray and DVD.
