Sony Classical has released a soundtrack album for the action thriller Copshop. The album features the film’s original music composed by Clinton Shorter (District 9, The Expanse, Contraband, 2 Guns, Pompeii, Boss Level). Copshop is directed by Joe Carnahan and stars Gerard Butler, Frank Grillo, Alexis Louder and Toby Huss. The movie follows a wily con artist on the run from a lethal hitman who devises a scheme to hide out inside a small-town police station, but when the assassin turns up at the precinct, an unsuspecting rookie cop finds herself caught in the crosshairs.     Why doesn’t anyone hear the Lalo Shifrin Dirty Harry music in this soundtrack? Come on!

    Oh, I heard it loud and clear! Had a huge smile on my face when the theme from “Magnum Force” played over the titles! And yes, many more musical cues “borrowed” from Lalo. Thought the soundtrack really boosted the movie, which was pretty entertaining in itself.
