Marcelo Zarvos (Wonder, The Affair, The Good Shepherd, Ray Donovan, Enough Said) has been hired to score the upcoming drama A Journal for Jordan. The film is directed by Denzel Washington and stars Michael B. Jordan, Chanté Adams and Jalon Christian. The movie tells the true story of Sergeant Charles Monroe King, a soldier deployed to Iraq who begins to keep a journal of love and advice for his infant son. Virgil Williams (Mudbound) wrote the screenplay based on the book by Dana Canedy. Washington and Jordan are also producing the Escape Artists/Bron Studios production with Todd Black & Jason Blumenthal (The Pursuit of Happyness, Southpaw) and Steve Tisch (Forrest Gump, The Equalizer). Zarvos has previously scored Washington’s last directorial effort, Fences. A Journal for Jordan will be released in select cities on December 10, 2021 by Sony Pictures before expanding nationwide on December 22.

As previously reported, Zarvos also has Antoine Fuqua’s The Guilty starring Jake Gyllenhaal coming up. The thriller will premiere next month at the Toronto Film Festival before premiering on Netflix this fall.
