Gabriel Yared (The English Patient, The Talented Mr. Ripley, Cold Mountain, Judy, 1408) is attached to scorethe upcoming French/Italian drama Scarlet (L’envol). The film is directed by Pietro Marcello (Martin Eden, Lost and Beautiful) and stars Juliette Jouan, Raphaël Thierry, Louis Garrel, Noémie Lvovsky, Ernst Umhauer, François Négret and Yolande Moreau. The movie is set in Northern Normandy between the two world wars and follows the journey of a young woman who was raised by her father, a widowed war veteran, and strives to find her own path in life. Marcello also co-wrote the screenplay with Maurizio Braucci (Gomorrah, Pasolini) and Maud Ameline (Amanda). Charles Gillibert (Mustang, On the Road) is producing the project for CG Cinema, alongsidde Ilya Stewart for Hype Film and Antonio Miyakawa for Wise Pictures. Scarlet has just begun principal photography. A release in 2022 is expected. (Variety)
