Mark Mothersbaugh (Thor: Ragnarok, The Royal Tenenbaums, Hotel Transylvania, The Croods: A New Age) has recently scored the new Netflix original film America: The Motion Picture. The movie is directed by Matt Thompson (Archer, Cake) and features the voice talent of Channing Tatum, Jason Mantzoukas, Olivia Munn, Andy Samberg, Bobby Moynihan, Judy Greer, Will Forte, Killer Mike, Raoul Trujillo and Simon Pegg. The animated comedy follows a chainsaw-wielding George Washington who teams with beer-loving bro Sam Adams to take down the Brits. Dave Callaham (Wonder Woman 1984, Mortal Kombat) wrote the screenplay. Phil Lord & Christopher Miller are producing the project with Will Allegra (Brigsby Bear), Eric Sims, Jeff Fastner and Neal Holman. Mothersbaugh has previously collaborated with Lord & Miller on Cloudy and the Chance of Meatballs and its sequel, 21 & 22 Jump Street, The LEGO Movie and its sequel, this year’s Mitchells vs. Machines, as well as Fox’s The Last Man on Earth. America: The Motion Picture will premiere next Wednesday, June 30 exclusively on Netflix.

As previously reported, Mothersbaugh also has Sony Pictures Animation’s Hotel Transylvania: Transformania</em> (to be released in theaters on October 1, 2021) coming up. The composer also continues to score Netflix’s Disenchantment.
