Claude Bolling has passed away yesterday at age 90 in Paris, France. The French composer and jazz pianist has scored dozens of films and TV movies/shows between the late 1950s and early 2000s. Among his best known feature credits are Herbert Ross’ California Suite, Mike Newell’s The Awakening, Jacques Deray’s Golden Globe-nominated crime drama Borsalino and the director’s Flic Story, Blood on the Streets & Three Men to Kill, Philippe de Broca’s Le Magnifique, René Goscinny’s Lucky Luke, José Giovanni’s The Gypsy, Marcel Camus’ Atlantic Wall, Dick Clements’ Catch Me a Spy and Daniel Petrie’s The Bad Boy. He was honored with Cesar Awards nominations for Deray’s He Died with His Eyes Open and Claude Lelouch’s Chance or Coincidence. Among his television credits are the 1980s animated Lucky Luke series and the French hit TV show The Tiger Brigades.
