Plaza Mayor Company will release a soundtrack album for the documentary Once Upon a Time in Venezuela. The album features the film’s original music composed and performed by Nascuy Linares (Embrace of the Serpent, Luxor, Los silencios). The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, November 13 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon, where you can also check out the full track list. Once Upon a Time in Venezuela directed by Anabel Rodríguez Ríos was shot over seven years and focuses on the Venezuelan fishing village of Congo Mirador, a once prosperous commercial and social hub that has spiraled into chaos and violence, reflecting the political climate that has ravaged the South American country in recent years. The movie premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival and has been selected as the Venezuelan entry for the Best International Feature Film at next year’s Academy Awards.
