Premiering tonight is the Starz original series Power Book II: Ghost created by Courtney A. Kemp and starring Michael Rainey Jr., Naturi Naughton, Mary J. Blige, Quincy Tyler Bernstine, Daniel Bellomy, Paige Hurd,” Cliff “Method Man” Smith, Shane Johnson, Gianni Paolo and Melanie Liburd. The show’s original music is composed by Jeff Russo (FargoStar Trek: Discovery & Picard, The Night Of, LegionThe Umbrella Academy) who previously scored all episodes of the original Power series. Premiering tomorrow, September 7 is DreamWorks Animation’s new TV series Madagascar: A Little Wild executive produced by Johanna Stein & Dana Starfield and starring Tucker Chandler, Amir O’Neil, Shaylin Becton, Luke Lowe, Jasmine Gatewood and Eric Petersen. Frederik Wiedmann (The Dragon Prince, The Green Lantern: The Animated Series, Hangman) who has previously scored DreamWorks Animation TV’s All Hail King Julien is composing the show’s original music. The series, which follows young versions of Alex, Marty, Gloria & Melman from the Madagascar franchise, as they grow up in New York City, will be available to stream on Hulu and Peacock.

Premiering on Wednesday. September 9, is the second season of Spectrum Originals’ series L.A.’s Finest created by Brandon Margolis & Brandon Sonnier based on the Bad Boys movie franchise and starring Gabrielle Union, Jessica Alba, Zach Gilford, Duane Martin, Ryan McPartlin, Sophie Reynolds and Ernie Hudson. The new season is scored by Jeff Cardoni (Silicon Valley, Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates, The Kominsky Method) who follows Laura Karpman & Raphael Saadiq who composed the music for the first season, which will air this fall on Fox following its premiere on Spectrum last year. Another show premiering on Wednesday is the Hulu original series Woke created by Keith Knight & Marshall Todd and starring Lamorne Morris, Blake Anderson, T. Murph, Sasheer Zamata and Lara Goldie. Stanley Clarke (Boyz n the Hood, The TransporterUndercover Brother, Passenger 57Romeo Must Die) is composing the show’s original music. Also premiering on Wednesday is the Netflix original documentary/drama hybrid The Social Dilemma directed by Jeff Orlowski (Chasing Ice, Chasing Coral) and produced by Larissa Rhodes about the consequences of our growing dependence on social media. The film’s original music is composed by Mark Crawford. The movie, which explores the dangerous human impact of social networking, with tech experts sounding the alarm on their own creations, premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival and will be available to stream exclusively on Netflix.

Premiering on Thursday, September 10, is the Netflix original series Julie and the Phantoms developed by Dan Cross & David Hoge based on the Brazilian series Julie e os Fantasmas and starring Madison Reyes, Charlie Gillespie, Owen Patrick Joyner, Jeremy Shada, Cheyenne Jackson, Booboo Stewart,Carlos Ponce, Jadah Marie, Sonny Bustamante, Sacha Carlson and Savannah Lee May. Maureen Crowe serves as the project’s music supervisor. Columbia Records will release a soundtrack album featuring the songs from the show on Thursday. Also premiering on Thursday is the HBO Max original film Unpregnant directed by Rachel Lee Goldenberg and starring Haley Lu Richardson, Barbie Ferreira, Sugar Lyn Beard, Ramona Young, , Mary McCormack, Breckin Meyer, Betty Who and Giancarlo Esposito. Roger Neill (Beginners, King of the Hill, 20th Century Women, Valley Girl, Like Father) has composed the movie’s original score. Premiering on Friday, September 11 is the animated feature Pets United written and directed by Reinhard Klooss and starring Natalie Dormer, Eddie Marsan and Stephen Mangan. The film’s original music is composed by David Newman (Ice AgeSerenity, Anastasia, The FlintstonesGalaxy Quest, The War of the Roses).
