Volker Bertelmann (aka Hauschka)  (LionAdrift, Hotel Mumbai, The Art of Racing in the RainGunpowder) has been hired to score the upcoming Showtime limited series Your Honor. The show is developed by Peter Moffat (The Night Of, The Last Post) based on the Israeli series Kvodo created by Ron Ninio & Shlomo Mashiach and stars Bryan Cranston, Carmen Ejogo, Isiah Whitlock Jr., Sofia Black-D’Elia, Hope Davis and Michael Stuhlbarg. The 10-part legal thriller is set in New Orleans and revolves around a respected judge whose son is involved in a hit-and-run that leads to a high-stakes game of lies, deceit and impossible choices. Moffat and Cranston are also executive producing the CBS Television Studios production with Robert & Michelle King (The Good FightThe Good Wife), Liz Glotzer (Evil), as well as Edward Berger (The Terror) who is also directing the first three episodes. Bertelmann has previously scored the Berger-directed Showtime series Patrick Melrose. Your Honor is expected to premiere later this year on Showtime.

As previously reported, Bertelmann also has Francis Lee’s Ammonite starring Kate Winslet &  Saoirse Ronan and Gina Prince-Bythewood’s The Old Guard starring Charlize Theron (both co-scored with Dustin O’Halloran), as well as Joe Penna’s Stowaway starring Anna Kendrick & Toni Collette coming up. He also composed the music for Jessica Swale’s drama Summerland, which is expected to be released later this year.

    Volker, your piano piece at the end of Your Honor, series 1, episode 3 is absolutely hauntingly beautiful. What is it called and where can I purchase the sheet music so that I can try and learn to play it? (especially during this covid time). Definitely going to look for more of your music.
