Hildur Guðnadóttir was honored with her first Academy Award for her score for Todd Phillips’ Joker at tonight’s 92nd Oscar ceremony. The composer who previously received a Golden Globe and a Critics’ Choice Award for her work on the film was also nominated the first time. Check out her acceptance speech after the jump. The other nominated composers in the Best Original Score category were Thomas Newman (1917), Alexandre Desplat (Little Women), Randy Newman (Marriage Story) and John Williams (Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker).

In the Best Original Song category, Elton John and Bernie Taupin received the Academy Award for the original song (I’m Gonna) Love Me Again from Dexter Fletcher’s Rocketman.
