Theodore Shapiro (The Devil Wears Prada, Tropic Thunder, Ghostbusters, Spy) has been tapped to score the upcoming comedy drama The Good House. The film is written and directed by Maya Forbes & Wally Wolodarsky and stars Kevin Kline, Sigourney Weaver, Morena Baccarin, Rob Delaney, Beverly D’Angelo, David Rasche, Rebecca Henderson, Molly Brown, Kathryn Erbe and Kelly AuCoin. The movie is based on the New York Times bestseller of the same name by Ann Leary and revolves around a New England realtor who lives in a small town on Boston’s North Shore and whose life starts to unravel as she rekindles an old romance. Jane Rosenthal (The Irishman, Meet the Parents), Berry Welsh (When They See Us, All We Had) and Aaron Ryder (Arrival, Mud) are producing the Amblin Partners and FilmNation Entertainment production. Shapiro has previously scored Forbes’ first two directorial efforts, Infinitely Polar Bear and The Polka King. The Good House is currently in post-production and is expected to be released in 2020 by Universal Pictures.

Shapiro’s other recently projects include Blue Sky Studios’ animated feature Spies in Disguise and Jay Roach’s Bombshell (which is shortlisted in the Original Score category for next year’s Academy Awards), both of which are currently playing in theaters nationwide. The composer also has DreamWorks Animation’s Trolls World Tour coming up.
