Steven Argila (Basmati Blues, Wayne, Max Steel, The Thing About My Folks) has been hired to score Spectrum’s reboot of the 90s comedy Mad About You. The show is developed by Peter Tolan (Rescue Me, The Job) and stars Paul Reiser and Helen Hunt who reprise their roles in the series, as well as Abby Quinn, Anne Ramsey, John Pankow and Richard Kind. Tolan, Hunt and Reiser are also executive producing the Sony Pictures Television production with Brian Volk-Weiss, Michael Pelmont and Matthew Ochacher. Danny Jacobson who co-created the original show with Reiser serves as an executive consultant. Argila has previously scored Seeso’s There’s…Johnny and The Paul Reiser Show for the producers. David Kitay scored the original NBC series, which aired between 1992 and 1999. Mad About You will premiere on November 20, 2019 on Spectrum.

Argila also has the biographical drama Son of the South written and directed by Barry Alexander Brown and starring Lucas Till, Lucy Hale, Lex Scott Davis, Julia Ormond, Cedric the Entertainer, Sharonne Lainer and Brian Dennehy. The movie is based on the autobiography The Wrong Side Of Murder Creek by Bob Zellner and follows an Alabama native and grandson of a Ku Klux Klan member as he is pulled into the center of the civil rights movement in 1961. Colin Bates (Maggie), Eve Pomerance, Bill Black, Stan Erdreich (Foreign Exchange) and David Kang are producing the project. Spike Lee (BlacKkKlansman, Malcolm X) serves as an executive producer. Son of the South is expected to premiere in 2020.
