Daniel Wohl has signed to score the upcoming romantic comedy The Stand-In. The film is directed by Jamie Babbit (Silicon Valley, But I’m a Cheerleader) and stars Drew Barrymore, Michael Zegen, Charlie Barnett, Ellie Kemper and Holland Taylor. The movie tells the story of a disaffected comedy actress and her ambitious stand-in trading places. Sam Bain (Peep Show, Fresh Meat) wrote the screenplay. Barrymore is also producing the project with Ember Truesdell & Chris Miller (Santa Clarita Diet, Animal) for Flower Films, alongside Tom McNulty (The Spectacular Now, The Rocker) for MC2 Entertainment, and Caddy Vanasirikul for The Exchange. The Stand-In is currently in post-production. No word yet on a release date.

Wohl’s previous scoring credits include the Robert Zemeckis-produced History original series Project Blue Book (which has been renewed for a second season), the TBS comedy Search Party, the Netflix documentary They’ll Love Me When I’m Dead and the feature drama The Color of Time. His most recent solo record, État, was released last week by Nonesuch Records. Visit Spotify the stream and Amazon to purchase the album (available digitally and on CD).
