Johan Söderqvist (Let the Right One In, Kon-Tiki, In a Better World) is scoring the upcoming drama Lyrebird. The film marks the directorial debut of Dan Friedkin (The Mule, All the Money in the World) and stars Guy Pearce, Claes Bang, Vicky Krieps and Roland Møller. The movie tells the true story of Dutch folk hero Han van Meegeren, an art forger who victimized the Nazis with bang-on copies of masterpieces. Mark Fergus & Hawk Ostby (Children of Men, Iron Man) wrote the screenplay with John Orloff (Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole, A Mighty Heart). Ridley Scott (Gladiator, Alien, Thelma & Louise) is producing the Imperative Entertainment production. Lyrebird is expected to premiere later this year.

Söderqvist is also set to reteam with director Maria Sødah on the Norwegian drama Håp (Hope). The movie starring Andrea Bræin Hovig & Stellan Skarsgård follows a successful careerist, who on Christmas Eve is diagnosed with brain metastases, giving her only three months to live. The movie produced by Thomas Robsahm and Yngve Sæther is set to be released later this year in Norwegian theaters.
