Elliot Leung is composing the music for the upcoming Chinese action thriller The Rescue. The film is directed by Dante Lam (Operation Mekong, The Stool Pigeon, The Sniper) and stars Eddie Peng, Xin Zhilei, Wang Yanlin, Lan Yingying, Xu Yang, Li Mincheng and Wang Yutian. The movie centers on an emergency rescue operative and his pilot girlfriend, whose team find courage and camaraderie in adversity. Candy Leung is producing the project. Elliot Leung has previously collaborated with Lam on last year’s box office hit Operation Red Sea. The Rescue is set to be released in Chinese theaters in early 2020.
Leung is also scoring the upcoming sci-fi epic Warriors of Future. The movie marks the directorial debut of visual effects veteran Ng Yuen-fai and tells the story of a meteorite crashing down on a barren future Earth ravaged by pollution and global warming, bringing with it a fast-growing alien vine that purifies the planet but kills everything in its path. The film is set for a release in Chinese theaters this fall.
