Rob Lane (John AdamsMerlinAtlantisThe Damned UnitedBeowulf) is scoring the upcoming BBC series MotherFatherSon. The show is created and written by Tom Rob Smith (The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story, Child 44) and stars Richard Gere, Helen McCrory, Billy Howle, Ciarán Hinds and Elena Anaya. The 8-part drama revolves around a charismatic self-made American businessman with media outlets in London and around the world whose self-destructive lifestyle spirals out of control. James Kent (The Aftermath, Testament of Youth) is the project’s lead director. Smith is also executive producing the BBC Studios Drama London production with Hilary Salmon (Silk), Elizabeth Kilgarriff (Bodyguard, Poldark) and Alan Poul (Six Feet Under, The Newsroom). MotherFatherSon will premiere in the UK later this year on BBC Two. No word yet on a domestic release.

Lane also continues to score Sky’s A Discovery of Witches, which will return for its second season later this year.
