Three new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:

Opening in most theaters is the fantasy adventure Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald directed by David Yates and starring Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston, Dan Fogler, Alison Sudol, Ezra Miller, Jude Law, Johnny Depp, Zoë Kravitz and Callum Turner. The film’s original music is composed by James Newton Howard (The Hunger GamesKing KongMaleficentThe Sixth Sense). WaterTower Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score. Also opening wide is the crime thriller Widows directed by Steve McQueen and starring Viola Davis, Michelle Rodriguez, Elizabeth Debicki, Cynthia Erivo, Colin Farrell, Brian Tyree Henry, Daniel Kaluuya, Garret Dillahunt, Carrie Coon, Jacki Weaver, Robert Duvall and Liam Neeson. Hans Zimmer (GladiatorInceptionThe Dark KnightThe Lion KingDunkirk) has composed the film’s original score. Also opening wide is the comedy Instant Family directed by Sean Anders and starring Mark Wahlberg, Rose Byrne, Octavia Spencer, Isabela Moner, Tig Notaro and Margo Martindale. The film’s original score is composed by Michael Andrews (Donnie DarkoBridesmaidsNeighborsThe Big Sick). Paramount Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score and Republic Records has released the original song I’ll Stay performed by Moner. Opening in limited release before expanding nationwide next week is the comedy drama Green Book directed by Peter Farrelly and starring Viggo Mortensen, Mahershala Ali, Linda Cardellini, Sebastian Maniscalco, Dimiter D. Marinov and P.J. Byrne. Kris Bowers (Dear White PeopleFor the PeopleOf Monsters and Men) has composed the film’s original music. Also opening in limited release is the drama At Eternity’s Gate co-written and directed by Julian Schnabel and starring Willem Dafoe, Mads Mikkelsen, Emmanuelle Seigner, Amira Casar, Niels Arestrup and Oscar Isaac. The film’s original music is composed by Tatiana Lisovskaya. Filmtrax has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score. Also opening in select theaters is the sci-fi drama Jonathan directed by Bill Olivier and starring  Ansel Elgort, Suki Waterhouse, Patricia Clarkson and Matthew Bomer. Will Blair & Brooke Blair (Green Room, Hold the Dark, Blue Ruin, I Don’t Feel at Home in This World Anymore) have composed the film’s original music. No soundtrack album has been announced. The movie, which centers on two brothers living very separate lives – inside the same body, premiered at this year’s Tribeca Film Festival and is being released by Well Go USA Entertainment.

Also opening in select cities is the drama 55 Steps directed by Bille August and starring Helena Bonham Carter, Hilary Swank, Jeffrey Tambor, Johan Heldenbergh and Cynthia Hoppenfeld. The film’s original music is composed by Annette Focks (Night Train to LisbonSilent Heart, In Harm’s Way). No word on a soundtrack release. Another limited release this week is thriller Welcome Home directed by George Ratliff and starring Aaron Paul, Emily Ratajkowski and Riccardo Scamarcio. Bear McCreary (10 Cloverfield LaneOutlanderThe Walking DeadBattlestar GalacticaHappy Death Day) has composed the film’s original music. Sparks & Shadows has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score. Also opening in select theaters and on VOD is the indie thriller The Clovehitch Killer directed by Duncan Skiles and starring Dylan McDermott, Charlie Plummer, Samantha Mathis, Madisen Beaty, Brenna Sherman and Lance Chantiles-Wertz. Also opening in limited release is the indie drama Heart, Baby! written and directed by Angela Shelton and starring Gbenga Akinnagbe, Jackson Rathbone, Shawn-Caulin Young, Keir O’Donnell, Shaun Brown, Justice Leak, Quinton Aaron, Jamie Kennedy, Abraham Benrubi, Dana Gourrier and Ann Cusack. Jay Weigel (Cut Off) has composed the film’s original score. Also opening in select theaters while also premiering on Netflix today is the drama Girl directed by Lukas Dhont and starring Victor Polster, Arieh Worthalter, Oliver Bodart, Tijmen Govaerts, Katelijne Damen, Valentijn Dhaenens, Magali Elali and Alice de Broqueville. The film’s original music is composed by Valentin Hadjadj (April and the Extraordinary World). Deutsche Grammophon has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score.
