Carlos Rafael Rivera won his first Emmy Award for his main titles theme music from the Netflix limited series Godless at tonight’s Creative Arts Emmy Awards ceremony at the Microsoft Theatre LA LIVE in Downtown Los Angeles. Ramin Djawadi was honored with his first Primetime Emmy Award for his score for the episode The Dragon and the Wolf from HBO’s Game of Thrones in the Music Composition for a Series category.Djawadi has been Emmy-nominated four times in previous years and was also nominated this year for Westworld. In the Outstanding Music Composition for a Limited Series, Movie or a Special category, Cyrille Aufort won his first Emmy Award for the Hulu documentary March of the Penguins 2: The Next Step. Rivera and Aufort accepted their awards in person, while Djawadi was unable to attend as he is currently on his Game of Thrones concert tour. In the Outstanding Music Supervision category, Robin Urdang, Amy Sherman-Palladino & Daniel Palladino won the award for Amazon’s The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and also accepted their first Emmy in person.
