Sony Masterworks will release a soundtrack album for the animated feature Animal Crackers. The album features the original songs from the movie by Howard Jones and Toad the Wet Sprocket, as well as tracks by Queen, Huey Lewis & the News, Michael Bublé, Katie Herzig, Fleur East & more. Also included are three tracks from the film’s original score composed by Bear McCreary (10 Cloverfield Lane, The Walking Dead, Battlestar Galactica, Outlander). The composer also produced two original songs performed by Ian McKellen and written by John Adair and Jeff ‘Swampy’ Marsh, Dan Povenmire, Robert Hughes, Danny Jacob & Scott Christian Sava. Animal Crackers is directed by Scott Christian Sava & Tony Bancroft and features the voice talent of Emily Blunt, Danny DeVito, Ian McKellen, Sylvester Stallone, Raven-Symoné, Patrick Warburton and Wallace Shawna. The movie centers on a family whose life is turned upside down when they inherit a rundown circus and a mysterious box of Animal Crackers, which magically changes the person who eats them into animals. The film will be released in Chinese theaters on July 27. No domestic release date has been confirmed yet.
