The only movie opening nationwide this weekend is Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom directed by J.A. Bayona and starring Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, BD Wong, James Cromwell, Ted Levine, Justice Smith, Geraldine Chaplin, Daniella Pineda, Toby Jones and Rafe Spall. The film’s original music is composed Michael Giacchino (UpLostRogue One: A Star Wars Story, Star TrekThe IncrediblesRatatouille). Opening in limited release is the western comedy Damsel written and directed by Nathan & David Zellner and starring Robert Pattinson, Mia Wasikowska, Robert Forster, the Zellner brothers themselves and Joseph Biligiere. The Octopus Project who have previously scored the directors’ Kumiko, the Treasure Hunter and Kid-Thing have composed the film’s original music. Also opening in limited release is the comedy drama Boundaries written and directed by Shana Feste and starring Vera Farmiga, Christopher Plummer, Lewis MacDougall, Bobby Cannavale, Kristen Schaal, Dolly Wells, Yahya Abdul-Mateen, Christopher Lloyd and Peter Fonda. The film’s original score is composed by Michael Penn (Girls, Masters of Sex, Boogie Night, Sunshine Cleaning). No word on a soundtrack release. Also opening in select theaters is the historical drama The Catcher Was a Spy directed by Ben Lewin and starring Paul Rudd, Jeff Daniels, Paul Giamatti, Mark Strong, Sienna Miller and Guy Pearce. Howard Shore (Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, The Silence of the Lambs, Hugo, The Aviator, The Fly) has composed the film’s original music. No soundtrack album has been announced. Also opening in select cities is the sci-fi thriller Distorted directed by Rob King and starring Christina Ricci, John Cusack and Brendan Fletcher. The film’s original music is composed by Todd Bryanton (The Tall Man, The Humanity Bureau). No soundtrack album has been released. The movie follows a couple who move to an apartment building that boasts ultra modern design features and integrated security systems.
