Magic Light Pictures will release a soundtrack album for the BBC animated holiday special The Highway Rat. The album features the original music from the short composed by René Aubry (The Gruffalo, The Gruffalo’s Child, Under the Bombs). The soundtrack will be released digitally on Monday, December 18 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. The Highway Rat is directed by Jeroen Jaspaert and stars David Tennant as the title character, Rob Brydon as the narrator, Nina Sosanya as the Duck, Tom Hollander as the Squirrel and Frances de le Tour as the Rabbit. The film is based on the book by Julia Donaldson & Axel Scheffler and centers on a ravenous rat who craves buns, biscuits and all sweet things. The holiday special will premiere Christmas Day on BBC One.
