Three new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:

Opening in most theaters is the comic book movie Justice League directed by Zack Snyder and starring Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Amy Adams, Ezra Miller, Jason Monoa, Ray Fisher, Jeremy Irons, Diane Lane, Connie Nielsen, J.K. Simmons and Ciarán Hinds. The film’s original music is composed by Danny Elfman (BatmanSpider-ManAlice in Wonderland). Also opening wide is the drama Wonder co-written and directed by Stephen Chbosky and starring Jacob Tremblay, Julia Roberts, Owen Wilson, Izabela Vidovic, Mandy Patinkin and Daveed Diggs. Marcelo Zarvos (FencesThe Good ShepherdThe AffairEnough Said) has composed the film’s original music. Milan Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well as the original song Darker by Hannah Faye and other songs. The third wide release this week is the animated feature The Star directed by Timothy Reckart and featuring the voices of Steven Yeun, Gina Rodriguez, Zachary Levi, Keegan-Michael Key, Kelly Clarkson, Anthony Anderson, Kristin Chenoweth, Tracy Morgan, Tyler Perry and Oprah Winfrey. The film’s original score is composed by John Paesano (Daredevil, The Maze Runner, The Defenders). Epic Records has released a soundtrack album featuring an original song performed by Mariah Carey and co-writen by Marc Shaiman, as well as tracks by Fifth Harmony, Kelsea Ballerini, Kirk Franklin, A Great Big World, Zara Larsson, Yolanda Adams, Jake Owen & more. Opening in New York and Los Angeles before expanding nationwide next week is the thriller Roman J. Israel, Esq. written and directed by Dan Gilroy and stars Denzel Washington, Colin Farrell, Carmen Ejogo, Lynda Gravatt, Amanda Warren and Hugo Armstrong. James Newton Howard (The Hunger GamesKing KongMaleficent, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them) who previously scored Gilroy’s Nightcrawler has composed the film’s original score. Also opening in limited release is the indie thriller Sweet Virginia directed by Jamie M. Dagg and starring Jon Bernthal, Christopher Abbott, Imogen Poots and Rosemarie Dewitt. Brooke Blair & Will Blair (Green RoomBlue RuinsWheelmanI Don’t Feel at Home in This World Anymore) have composed the film’s original music. Also opening in select cities is the sci-fi thriller Revolt directed by Joe Miale and starring Lee Pace, Bérénice Marlohe and Jason Flemyng. The film’s original music is composed by Bear McCreary (10 Cloverfield LaneColossalHappy Death DayThe Walking DeadBattlestar Galactica). Lakeshore Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score. Opening in select theaters while also premiering on Netflix today is the period drama Mudbound directed by Dee Rees and starring Carey Mulligan, Jason Clarke, Mary J. Blige,  Jason Mitchell, Rob Morgan, Jonathan Banks and Garrett Hedlund. Tamar-kali has composed the film’s original score. Milan Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the score, as well as the original song Mighty River performed by Mary J.
