This coming weekend, The Echo Society will be presenting its first three-day festival, VI: FAMILY. The event will feature original works by 21 Los Angeles-based composers and special guests exploring the theme of “Family.” Among the participating artists are film/TV composers Rob Simonsen (500 Days of SummerFoxcatcher), Joseph Trapanese (Straight Outta ComptonOblivion), ESKMO (Billions, 13 Reasons Why), Nathan Johnson (LooperBrick), Jeremy Zuckerman (Scream: The TV Series, Legend of Kora), Deru (Benjamin Wynn) (Avatar: The Last Airbender),  Judson CraneDan Romer (Beasts of the Southern WildBeasts of No Nation), Alex Somers (Captain FantasticAloha), Heather McIntosh (ComplianceZ for Zachariah) and Chris Taylor of Grizzly Bear (Blue Valentine). The festival will take place on October 21, 22 & 23 at at a legendary residence from the Golden Age of Hollywood in Silver Lake. Every evening, 7 different composers will present or perform original works simultaneously in 7 rooms of the house for (mostly) unamplified instruments of their choosing.
