Garth Stevenson is reteaming with director John Curran (The Painted VeilStone) on the upcoming historical drama Chappaquiddick. The film stars Jason Clarke, Kate Mara, Ed Helms, Bruce Dern, Jim Gaffigan, Olivia Thirlby, Clancy Brown and Taylor Nichols. The movie examines the infamous 1969 incident when Senator Ted Kennedy accidentally drove off a bridge, resulting in the death of campaign worker Mary Jo Kopechner. Taylor Allen and Andrew Logan wrote the screenplay. Mark Ciardi, Campbell McInnes (The RookieMiracleMcFarland, USA) and Chris Cowles (The Vatican Tapes) are producing the project. Dustin O’Halloran was originally attached the score the film as reported last fall. Stevenson has previously scored Curran’s last feature, Tracks. Chappaquiddick will premiere next month at the Toronto Film Festival.
