Bear McCreary has recently composed the music for the upcoming sci-fi thriller Tau. The film is directed by Federico D’ Alessandro and stars Maika Monroe and Ed Skrein. The movie a woman who is held captive in a futuristic smart house and hopes to escape by breaking into the computer programs that control the house. Noga Landau wrote the screenplay. David S. Goyer (The Dark Knight, Man of Steel) is producing the project with Kevin Turen (The Birth of a Nation, Arbitrage, 99 Homes), Russell Ackerman and John Schoenfelder. McCreary has previously scored the Goyer-produced TV shows Da Vinci’s Demons and Constantine. No word yet on a premiere date for Tau.

McCreary’s upcoming feature projects also include Happy Death Day (previously entitled Half to Death), which is set for a release on October 20, the animated feature Animal Crackers, the thriller Revolt, the documentary Unrest (scheduled for a release on September 22) and the drama Rebel in the Rye (set to be released on September 15). He also continues to score AMC’s The Walking Dead, Starz’s Outlander and ABC’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
