Lakeshore Records has announced a soundtrack album for the Polish horror musical The Lure. The album features the original songs from the movie written by Barbara & Zuzanna Wrońska (of the Polish Indie Band Ballady i Romanse). The soundtrack will be released digitally on August 18, 2017. The pre-order link will be added to this article soon. The Lure is directed by Agnieszka Smoczynska and stars Marta Mazurek, Michalina Olszanska, Jakub Gierszal, Kinga Preis, Andrzej Konopka and Zygmunt Malanowicz. The movie follows a pair of carnivorous mermaid sisters who are drawn ashore in an alternate ’80s Poland to explore the wonders and temptations of life on land. The musical opened in Poland back in 2015 and had its U.S. premiere in 2016 at the Sundance Film Festival, where it received the Special Jury Prize (World Cinema – Dramatic) for “Unique Vision and Design.” The movie opened in select U.S. theaters earlier this year and is now available on VOD and will be released on Blu-ray and DVD (Criterion Collection) this October.
