Frederik Wiedmann is composing the music for the upcoming action thriller Stoic. The film is directed by Isaac Florentine (Ninja) and stars Antonio Banderas, Karl Urban, Cristina Serafini, Atanas Srebrev, Paz Vega, Robert Forster, Mark Rhino Smith, David Sakurai and Raicho Vasilev. The movie revolves around a fast-talking lawyer who is forced to take the law into his own hands and transforms his body to avenge his murdered wife and son. Matt Venne (White Noise 2: The Light) wrote the screenplay. Yariv Lerner and Les Weldon (The Expendables, London Has Fallen) are producing the project for Millennium Films/Nu Image. No release date has been announced yet for Stoic.

Wiedmann is also scoring the upcoming horror thriller Day of the Dead for the production companies. The film is directed by Hèctor Hernández Vicens (The Corpse of Anna Fritz) and stars Sophie Skelton, Marcus Vanco, Jeff Gum, Lorina Kamburova, Nick Loeb, Rachel O’Meara, Debbie Sherman, Luke Cousins, Nathan Cooper and Cristina Serafini. The movie is based on George A. Romero’s 1985 classic and follows centers on a group of survivors living in a post-apocalyptic world overrun with zombies. Christa Campbell (Criminal) and Lati Grobman (Righteous Kill) are producing the project with Jeff Rice (Intruders, A Single Shot). Day of the Dead will be distributed in the U.S. by Lionsgate. No word yet on a release date.

As previously reported, the composer’s other upcoming projects include the crime thriller Hangman starring Al Pacino.
