Mark Korven has been hired to score the upcoming drama Our House. The film is directed by Anthony Scott Burns and stars Thomas Mann and Nicola Peltz. The movie is based on Matt Osterman’s 2010 feature Ghost From the Machine and follows a man who has lost his parents in a car crash and leaves his promising future at MIT in order to work on an experiment to care for his siblings. Nathan Parker (MoonEquals) wrote the screenplay. Lee Kim (Operation Avalanche), Marty Katz (Cosmopolis, Maps to the Stars) and Ulf Israel (2 Days in New York) are producing the project. Our House is currently in post-production and is expected to premiere later this year.

Korven who is best known for his scores to last year’s The Witch and 1997’s Cube also has the horror thriller The Wanting coming up. The film is directed by Yam Laranas (The Road) and stars Adam Brody and Amanda Crew. The movie revolves around an all-American couple whose dream of starting a family is shattered after they move into the “perfect” New England neighborhood, where they descend into the depths of terror as they struggle to survive a genuine threat from a dark presence that appears to want to end their very lives. Donald Martin (Milton’s Secret) wrote the screenplay and Rob Heydon (Ecstasy) is producing the project. No word yet on a release date for The Wanting.
