EuropaCorp will release a soundtrack album for the martial arts action adventure epic The Warrior’s Gate. The album features the film’s original music composed by Klaus Badelt (Pirates of the Caribbean, The Time Machine, The Promise, Rescue Dawn, The Recruit). Also included are songs by Izia, Shirley Bassey, Samsaya, Diplo & Sleepy Tom and Trak Invaders. The soundtrack will be released digitally in the U.S. on March 24, 2017 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio clips. The album is already available in several Asian markets. The Warrior’s Gate is directed by Matthias Hoene and stars Dave Bautista, Mark Chao, Ni Ni, Uriah Shelton, Francis Ng and Sienna Guillory. The movie follows a teenager who is magically transported to China and learns to convert his videogame skills into those of a Kung Fu warrior. The film opened in China at the end of last year and will be released in several European markets this spring. No word yet on a domestic release.

It’s been quite a while since something by Badelt saw the lights of the day. Judging by the samples, this sounds like the successor to his Promise/Wu Ji score from mid 2000’s. Looking forward to it.
