nathan-halpernNathan Halpern is composing the original music for the upcoming indie comedy drama One Percent More Humid. The film is written and directed by Liz W. Garcia (The Lifeguard) and stars Juno Temple, Julia Garner, Alessandro Nivalo and Olivia Luccardi. The movie revolves around two college-age childhood friends who reunite for a humid New England summer to help each other deal with a traumatizing experience from their past. Garcia is also producing the project with Joshua Marto (Memphis Beat) and Isaac Lefevre. One Percent More Humid is expected to premiere later this year.

Halpern’s upcoming projects also include the documentary The Workers Cup. The film is directed by Adam Sobel and centers on the African and Asian migrant workers inside Qatar’s labor camps who are building the facilities of the 2022 World Cup and compete in a football tournament of their own.. Rosie Garthwaite and Ramzy Haddad are producing the project. The Worker’s Cup will premiere later this week at the Sundance Film Festival.

Halpern (Rich Hill, Marina Abramovic: The Artist Is Present, The Witness) has also scored the Discovery Channel documentary Rancher, Farmer, Fisherman directed by Susan Froemke & John Hoffman and co-directed by Beth Aala (Supermensch: The Legend of Shep Gordon). The film narrated by Tom Brokaw unfolds in America’s heartland, as working families bridge the political gap to come up with conservation solutions to preserve the land around them. Aala and Froemke are also producing the project with Miriam Horn. The movie will also premiere at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival and air in the third quarter on Discovery.
