little-hoursDan Romer is composing the music for the upcoming comedy The Little Hours. The film is written and directed by Jeff Baena (Life After BethJoshy) and stars Alison Brie, Dave Franco, Kate Micucci, Aubrey Plaza, John C. Reilly and Molly Shannon. The movie follows a young servant fleeing from his master who takes refuge at a dysfunctional convent in medieval Tuscany. Plaza is also producing the project with
Liz Destro (Life of Crime, Yoga Hosers, About Cherry) for Destro Films. The Little Hours will premiere next month at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival.

Romer (Beasts of the Southern WildBeasts of No NationDigging for FireEasy) also has the documentary Chasing Coral coming up. The film is directed by Jeff Orlowski (Chasing Ice) and follows a team of divers, photographers and scientists who set out on an ocean adventure to discover why Coral reefs around the world are vanishing at an unprecedented rate. Orlowski is also producing the project with Larissa Rhodes. The movie will also premiere in January at Sundance.

The composer’s other upcoming projects also include the first full season of Amazon’s Sneaky Pete, which will premiere on January 13, 2017. He also scored the indie drama Katie Says Goodbye starring Olivia Cooke. The movie premiered at this year’s Toronto Film Festival and is currently awaiting a domestic distribution deal.
