keegan-dewittKeegan DeWitt is reteaming with director Aaron Katz on the upcoming thriller Gemini. The film is written and directed by Katz (Cold Weather) and stars Lola Kirke, Zoe Kravitz, John Cho, Ricki Lake, Greta Lee, Michelle Forbes, Nelson Franklin, Reeve Carney, Jessica Parker Kennedy and James Ransone. Mynette Louie (Cold Comes the Night, Children of Invention), Sara Murphy (Morris From America) and Adele Romanski (Moonlight, Black Rock, Kicks) are producing the project. DeWitt has previously scored Katz’s last feature, Land Ho!. Gemini is currently in post-production and is expected to premiere in 2017.

DeWitt also has the indie drama The Hero coming up. The film is co-written and directed by Brett Haley and stars Sam Elliott, Laura Prepon, Krysten Ritter, Nick Offerman and Katharine Ross. The movie follows a former Western film icon as he reexamines his past, while a chance meeting with a sardonic comic has him looking to the future. Houston King (Results), Sam Bisbee (Robot & Frank, Cop Car) and Erik Rommesmo (It Follows) are producing the project. The composer has previously scored Haley’s 2015 feature, I’ll See You In My Dreams. The Hero will premiere next month in competition at the Sundance Film Festival.

The composer is also scoring the indie drama Golden Exits starring Alex Ross Perry and starring Emily Browning, Adam Horovitz, Mary-Louise Parker, Lily Rabe, Jason Schwartzman and Chloë Sevigny. The movie centers on two Brooklyn families whose lives are interrupted by the arrival of a young foreign girl. The director is also producing the film with Christos V. Konstantakopoulos (Before Midnight, Little Men), Adam Piotrowicz, Katie Stern and Joshua Blum. DeWitt and Perry have previously collaborated on Listen Up Philip and Queen of Earth. Golden Exits will also premiere in January at Sundance.

Also coming up for DeWitt is the comedy The Incredible Jessica James written and directed by James C. Strouse (Grace Is Gone, People, Places, Things) and starring Jessica Williams, Chris O’Dowd, Lakeith Stanfield and Noël Wells. The movie follows an aspiring NYC playwright who is struggling to get over a recent breakup and starts seeing a light at the end of the tunnel when she meets the recently divorced man. Michael B. Clark ( and Alex Turtletaub (Miss Stevens, Tig) are producing the film, which will also premiere at Sundance.

As previously reported, the composer is also scoring the upcoming Fox comedy Making History and is expected to return as the composer for the second season of HBO’s Divorce.
