harry-escottHarry Escott is scoring the upcoming British thriller Dark River. The film is written and directed by Clio Barnard and stars Ruth Wilson, Sean Bean and Mark Stanley. The movie follows a woman who returns to her home village for the first time time in 15 years after the death of her father, to claim the tenancy to the family farm she believes is rightfully hers. Tracy O’Riordan is producing the Film4, Left Bank Pictures and Moonspun Films production. Escott has previously collaborated with Barnard on her previous two features, The Selfish Giant and The Arbor. Dark River is expected to be released in the UK in 2017.

journeymanEscott (Shame, Hard Candy, Welcome to the Punch, A Mighty Heart) also has the boxing drama Journeyman coming up. The film is written and directed by Paddy Considine who also stars in the movie alongside Jodie Whittaker, Anthony Welsh, Tony Pitts and Paul Popplewell. The movie centers on a middleweight boxing champion who approaches the end of his career when he suffers a serious head injury during a fight. Diarmid Scrimshaw (Tyrannosaur) is producing the project. Journeyman will be released in 2017.

The composer’s other upcoming projects also include Damascus Cover starring Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Olivia Thirlby & John Hurt, which is also expected to be released next year.
