Gabriel Yared is composing the music for the upcoming French drama If You See His Heart (Si tu voyais son coeur). The film noir is directed by Joan Chemla and stars Gael Bernal Garcia and Marine Vacth. The movie follows a gypsy, excluded from his community after the death of his best friend, who finds solace in the figure of a woman. Pierre Guyard (Love at First Fight, This Summer Feeling) is producing the project for the Paris-based production company Nord-Ouest. If You See His Heart is currently in post-production and is expected to premiere in 2017.
Yared’s upcoming projects also include Xavier Dolan’s The Life and Death of John F. Donovan starring Kit Harington, Jessica Chastain, Natalie Portman & Susan Sarandon, as well as the biopic Bach starring Gerard Depardieu. He also scored Terry George’s The Promise starring Christian Bale & Oscar Isaac. The movie premiered at this year’s Toronto Film Festival. No word yet on a domestic distribution deal.
