Adam Peters is scoring the upcoming war drama Sand Castle. The film is directed by Fernando Coimbra (A Wolf at the Door) and stars Henry Cavill, Nicholas Hoult, Tommy Flanagan, Neil Brown Jr, Glen Powell and Logan Marshall-Green. The movie is set during the occupation of Iraq and follows a squad of U.S. soldiers who try to protect a small village. Chris Roessner wrote the screenplay based on his experience as a machine gunner in the Iraq Sunni Triangle. Mark Gordon (Saving Private Ryan, The Chronicles of Narnia, Steve Jobs) and Treehouse Pictures’ Justin Nappi (Arbitrage, All Is Lost, 99 Homes) are producing the project. Sand Castle is expected to premiere in 2017 on Netflix.

Peters whose previous scoring credits include Oliver Stone’s Savages and Snowden also has scored the upcoming indie drama Alone. The film is written and directed by Matthew Coppola (Fresh Cut Grass, The Patient) and stars Mark Kassen, Ray Liotta and Sophie Turner. The movie centers on a 35-year-old veteran battling PTSD who finds kindness and comfort in the company of a rebellious New York City high school student, much to her father’s dismay. Kassen is also producing the project with Mark Olsen and Iliana Nikolic (Machete Kills). No release date has been announced yet.
