transformers-the-last-knightSteve Jablonsky confirmed on Twitter that he will return to compose the music for the fifth installment in the Transformers series, Transformers: The Last Knight. The film is directed by Michael Bay who helmed the previous four movies of the franchise and stars Mark Wahlberg, Isabela Moner, Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson, Liam Garrigan, Jerrod Carmichael, Stanley Tucci, Mitch Pileggi, Laura Haddock, Santiago Cabrera and Anthony Hopkins. No plot details have been announced yet. Matt Holloway & Art Marcum (Iron Man) and Ken Nolan (Black Hawk Down) have written the screenplay. Don Murphy (Real Steel, Natural Born Killers), Tom DeSanto, Lorenzo di Bonaventura (Salt, G.I. Joe, RED) and Ian Bryce (Spider-Man, Saving Private Ryan) return as producers. Jablonsky has previously scored all four Transformers movies and also collaborated with Bay on such films as The Island, Pain & Gain and Bad Boys 2. Transformers: The Last Knight will be released on June 23, 2017 by Paramount Pictures.

Jablonsky’s latest project, Deepwater Horizon, will be released nationwide this weekend.

    I still prefer the first film’s score. Not sure why they opted not to carry on with that style for the sequels so far, but I sure don’t mind if they do now.
