  1. copycat says:

A rip-off of Penguin Cafe Orchestra

    • Margie says:

I just went to listen to the Penguin song. I don’t hear the similarity at all.

  2. gastfau says:

Absolutely correct in fact Still Life at The Penguin Cafe

  3. Jerry Alexander says:

Most definitely!! We love the Durrells and the music works so well with it. I’ve also been a big fan of Simon Jeffes and The Penguin Cafe Orchestra since the 80’s when they first hit the scene. I wonder if his son, who carried the mantel over the years since Simon Jeffes passed away, has said anything? Curious coincidence is that Steve Nye produced the PCO and Simon Nye is the writer for the Durrells. Couldn’t find any connection. Maybe royalties were paid? I would like to hear Ms Barrett side of the story!!

  4. Glenn Bowker says:

No interest in the Durrells, but commented while my wife was watching – music sounds exactly like Penguin Cafe Orchestra.
