the-dressmakerA soundtrack album has been released for the period comedy drama The Dressmaker. The album features the film’s original music written by Academy Award-nominated composer David Hirschfelder (ElizabethShine, Australia, The Railway Man). The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio clips. The Dressmaker is co-written and directed by Jocelyn Moorehouse and stars Kate Winslet, Liam Hemsworth, Judy Davis, Hugo Weaving, Sarah Snook, Caroline Goodall and Sacha Horler. The comic drama is based on the bestselling novel by Rosalie Ham and follows a dressmaker who returns to her tiny Australian hometown from the chic fashion houses of Paris to put her past to rest — and revolutionize the local women’s couture while she’s at it. The movie premiered at this year’s Toronto Film Festival and was released last month in Australia and is opening in several European countries this month. No word yet on a domestic distribution deal.
